This nine-story structure has been many things over the decades. In this most recent iteration, it is a 57-unit hotel. This project is a conversion from a commercial office building into residential building.

The history of the building was little known during the beginning of this project and Griggs Engineering helped the client discover the phases of this building’s history. Due to the many renovations and additions over the decades, the structure is a mixture of concrete, masonry, and steel framing.

Griggs Engineering designed and analyzed this complex mixture of framing using a combination of 3D modelling software to ensure that the existing structure can support the architect’s vision for the new addition and use.
